“to wrap up the friday night show - heidi herrman totally killed it! can we talk about the flattering 50’s vibe i am feeling in this collection. talk about flattering and fun! oh and that printed yellow and blue skirt, oh i mean shorts, yes shorts! i died over them. like literally i want to wear them right now. i love how flowy they are just amazing! i adored this collection because it all looked like it morphed from the 1950’s to modern day. and all with out missing a beat, and totally appropriate for today! i would definitely rock these looks - remind you of modcloth, anyone? i’m totally digging it!”
“Heidi Herrman’s collection closed down the show. Her pieces were well-constructed, wearable, and delightfully feminine. Her use of earthy tones and organic patterns had us inspired. We loved the pops of color! I don’t know about you guys, but all I could think about was rocking some of Heidi’s pieces to the office, and then straight to happy hour after! From the hair to the shoes this collection was put together to the smallest detail.”
“ Heidi Herrman had some of the most wearable looks of the evening. Each piece that came down the runway was just as ready-to-wear as the next. And, because there were so many, I had to truly pick my favorites.”
“Heidi Herrman is one of my favorite designers in Kansas City. I’ve introduced you to her in the past, while her collection this season is much more vintage inspired and muted in tone, than it has been in the past, this collection was clearly well constructed and totally wearable. I really loved the strapless romper!”
“Each piece is pinned, measured and pieced together to be versatile and timeless.”
Heidi Herrman was featured today on KCTV5's Better Kansas City program in an interview segment with Courtenay DeHoff. Watch the clip below to get insight into the Heidi Herrman design process and even catch a sneak peak of her collection for Kansas City Fashion Week which can be seen on Friday evening, September 26th.
“Kansas City Fashion Week’s sixth consecutive season will feature men’s and women’s apparel, accessories and jewelry by designers ranging from Los Angeles to New York to right here in Kansas City. Designers like Alicia Janesko, Kate Walz, Lauren Bander and many more will debut their collections.
Featured KCFW designer, Heidi Herrman, says, “It is such a rush to see the a collection that you have designed and constructed make it’s way down a runway, knowing a bit of your soul and voice has been put out into the world.”
“Up next was designer Heidi Herrman. I was blown away by how neat and well made her pieces were! Seated in the front row, one could almost touch the materials. Her entire collection deserved a salute for its great craftsmanship and choice of materials, shapes and structures.
Herrman presented an elegant, 1930s-inspired collection of dresses, pants and capes with modern twist to them, mostly in black and burgundy, perfect hues for the upcoming autumn and winter.”
“Heidi Herrman’s collection was the most refined out of all the collections. The designer took authentic West African prints and transformed them into modern 1940s inspired clothing.”
“On the last day of the event, we were able to see Heidi Herrman’s designs which we immediately fell in love with. When we met Heidi on the night of the trunk show, she mentioned that her line this season is inspired by African fabrics on classic patterns. We loved the idea of incorporating the African patterns since Kaleb and I have both done mission work in different parts of Africa. Her line was close to our hearts and reminded us of our experiences there.”
“Earlier this summer, I posted (here) about a jumpsuit that I had purchased from Heidi Hermman, from her collection at the West 18th Street Fashion Show, and it was at the BElievers Ball that I decided to give it its debut.”
“Heidi Herrman, a Kansas City based designer, sent some absolutely amazing pieces down the Gilded Summer 2013 runway, not the least of which was this amazing jumpsuit (which is the great white whale for many of us tall girls, and you can imagine why).”
